Because of the area's remoteness and hilly terrain there are few
roads in the area as a whole and none in the Western side of the Lower
Zambezi National Park adjacent to the river. Viewing is therefore mainly
by boat which provides an excellent and comfortable medium from which to
enjoy the spectacular scenery and get really close to animals such as
elephant coming down to the water to drink.
Cruises on the river in the vicinity of the Lodge and up to the
Park boundary can prove rewarding while a full or half day trip into the
Park is a must. As we have to make prior arrangement for guests to
enter the Park, advance notice is of assistance in this regard.
Animals that may be seen both outside and within the Park boundary
include elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, water buck, kudu, bush buck,
impala, zebra, hippo and crocodile. |
